My Phenomenal Life

This is my phenomenal life as I know it...so read on to learn something about who I am what makes me tick.

To begin, I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on Long Island, also in New York. (Big up to Uniondale!!!) I resided briefly in Washington, DC, but that is another story for another day. I have one phenomenal sister and two lovingly phenomenal parents (who have been really strict at times)! But I love them for it, because I am 24 years old, still faithfully in church and I am doing well thanks to them! I have severly dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and I am between 5'7" and 5'8". I love sports. My favorites are basketball and volleyball. My favorite pro sports teams are the New York Knicks, Liberty, and Yankees. I am a die hard fan, win or lose. Hey you can't claim the Knicks when they reach the NBA finals and then ditch them when they end up last place in the conference!!! :-)

I am also on the writing tip...be it poetry, lyrics, or whatever. I love to read as well...my favorite author being a toss up between John Grisham and Terry McMillian...and how could I forget Maya Angelou. However, I am currently reading up on Ellen G. White.

I am a very assertive, up front, and honest individual who dreams of being an attorney and then Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court someday. I recently earned my B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with distinction of membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society. I was very active in campus activities while at Stony Brook. During my time there I served the campus community as president of the Commuter Student Association (and later moved on campus to become a resident assistant), Senate Secretary, Associate Justice of the Student Government and later Chief Justice of the Student Government. I was also on the Homecoming Court my senior year and sat on the 2000 Year of Community Committee as one of only 2 undergraduate students personally selected by the University President, Dr. Shirley Strum Kenny. My ongoing involvement in student activities was rewarded by the Office of Student Affairs/Dean of Students when I was honored with the Theresa Montenaro 200% Student Leadership Award for the 2000-01 school year.

Would you like to know why I brag about Stony Brook? Not only is it the best campus in the State University of New York (SUNY) System, it is the best state school in the country! Click here to find out more about SUNY Stony Brook. A big shout out to the Athletics Department! As of 1999, SUNY Stony Brook officially became an NCAA Division I school!

As I mentioned above, my days at Stony Brook came to an end in May 2001. After a brief stint in the working world, I officially matriculated into the full-time Juris Doctor program at the Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, NY in August 2002. Hey, all who know me know my word is bond! I said for years growing up I was going to become an attorney, so by God's grace that's what I'm going to do!!!

I am also a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian. I am a member of the Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church in Freeport, NY (on Long Island). If you are interested in learning more about the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Christian denomination, feel free to click here for the official website.

What do I do for fun? I love to read (as I already said above) and I also love to write poetry (although when I began law school, it was a wrap for creativity). I absolutely love to play SPADES so don't come around me with a deck of cards and not expect FIRE!!! I also love to eat out (but don't do so as much as I would like...hey, I'm a broke law student! Who has time and money to wine and dine in fancy restaurants?) and just spend time with friends. I am also interested in making the community a better place, so I try to volunteer time to various groups, including the phenomenal John F. Kennedy Chapter (at Hofstra Law) of PHI ALPHA DELTA LAW FRATERNITY, INTERNATIONAL, and of course my church.

After years of inactivity, soul searching and a personal struggle, I have made the decision to become an active and integral part of the Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority. We are still in the beginning stages of our organization (less than 10 years old) and have a lot of hurdles to overcome, but we are reaching for the sky!! Look out! Here cometh a sisterhood like NO OTHER!!!
