BATANG PX
The PX Kid
Fourteen-year-old Amboy is a young boy in search of his biological father, an American military serviceman assigned in Olongapo. Tessie is Amboy's mother frequently falling for the wrong man. Amboy only knows his father through stories told by his mother. Tessie paints a good picture of Amboy's father, Michael Dahoff, despite his having abandoned Amboy before he was born. Seeing the boy's longing for his father, Tessie tries to find a suitable father for Amboy and make their family whole again. Amboy thus finds a hard time in coping with the emotional and economic difficulties of being an Amerasian and facing the reality that his American father can't accept him.
