 NUNAL SA TUBIG

Life in the small fishing island where Benjamin, Maria and Chedeng live used to be quiet and simple. People draw their livelihood from the sea which is slowly being polluted by the growth of an industry on the neighboring town. While this is happening, the two pretty barrio girls fall for the agressive Benjamin. One gets pregnant and the other decides to settle in town to avoid what could be the start of a rivalry. The principal characters and their relationships form the ripples that make us perceive the placid though troubled life on the island. Said to be Bernal's "art film," Nunal Sa Tubig is an unconventional Filipino movie wherein language operates in terms of images.
