Collect pictures
from magazines, newspapers, old Christmas cards or real Christmas
items to complete these Phonological Awareness activities
Sort Christmas pictures/objects according to first or final sound
Sound SNAP, Concentration, Go FISH etc. (pairs are objects
beginning/ending with same sound)
Scavenger Hunt - locate Christmas objects beginning with
particular sounds
Odd man out - show child three items (2 similiar first/final
sounds/1 different sound) and ask him or her to spot the 'odd man
out'
Brainstorm presents to give people beginning with the same sound
as the persons name (Books for Bob, camera for Colin)
Brainstorm presents to give people beginning or ending with
particular sounds
Play 'I spy' with Christmas items
