Your standard Cardboard Coffin
YOU WILL NEED:
A cardboard box slightly bigger than you will want the coffin to be
(it should be one that opened on the ends)
A piece of cardboard about 6 inches wide and
the same length as the finished coffin
Box Knife
Hot glue gun
Elmers spray glue
Masking tape
Some cheap cloth for the liner
Paint
First tape the box shut. Then you will want to cut the box to the shape of your coffin.
With the box on the floor you should be looking at what will be
the top or lid of the coffin. To get the right shape cut triangular pieces out
of all four corners (don't cut the sides of the box). When this is done
you should be able to see a rough of the coffin shape.

Turn the box over
and cut the bottom in an identical manner. Now make a cut down
each corner of the box. The flaps this creates you fold over and tape giving
you a coffin shaped box. I used the glue gun to glue the flaps together
(this gives it strength) and the masking tape over the edges to give it a
smoother finish. Now you will make a cut all the way around the box
removing what will be the lid from what will be the bottom. On the side
of the lid you want attached to the coffin you will need to make cuts along
the corners to give it a bending point, this will create the hinge. Hot glue and
then tape the strip of cardboard to the hinge part of the lid and to the back
side of the coffin bottom (you will need to play with how the lid rests before
gluing it to the bottom of the coffin it can be difficult to get it just right)
You should now have a rough cardboard coffin.

Give it a coat or two of paint
When it is dry take your cloth and decide how you want it to lie in the coffin.
When you have it just the way you want it to look use the Elmers spray
glue to attach it. When this is dry, through in a pillow made from the same cloth
as the coffin liner, a dead body and you are done.
