Generation No. 1
1. Ellizier Coons was born Unknown in ?Heidelberg, Germany, and died ? in Canada.
Notes for Elliezer (Elliesher) came to the Colonies in the early 1700s and settled in Albany and later in the Mohawk Valley, N.Y. He took part in the French and Indian Wars of that period and had at least one son, Conradt.................
Elliezer received land grants from King George III for loyalty to the Crown in the Revoluionary War and so did Conradt and his sons..........

Generation No. 2
2. Conradt COONS(Elliezer) was born abt 1732 possibly near Heidelberg, Germany, and died in Canada.
Notes for Conradt COONS:
Conradt Coons fought the French in the 1760s, joined the Royal Regiment of New York Johnson's Regiment Muster Roll A in the Revolutionary War together with his five sons. The name was anglicized about this time to Coons. All were given land grants from King George the Third in Matilda Township, Dundee, Ontario, Canada. All were loyalists to the Crown of England and are documented with the United Loyalists of Canada.............
Conradt is listed on the United Empire Loyalists Mark of Honour Roll, Eastern District, and as a member of the Royal Regiment of New York, page 377 of "Lunenburgh".

3. Jacob Coons(Conradt, Elliezer) was born about 1759, (possibly Germany or NY state) and died abt 1844 in Matilda Township, Iroquois, Ont Canada. He married MAGDALINE CARMAN 1783 in Montreal Quebec, Canada, Jesuit Reformed Church, daughter of Michael Carman and Margaretha Alter.
Jacob was... a self trained mechanic. His land allotment was next to Michael Carman Jr. This propery later contributing to the Village of Iroquois. He built the first grist mill in Dundas County. He also built a second mill in the area based on a "new principle". It did not work because the new principle was a form of perpetual motion.......
Jacob and his fiancee Magdaline left the Mohawk Valley in NY state in 1783 and were married in Montreal by a Chaplain of the British forces....received a land grant and settled in Iroquois...
He lived to be 90 years old... Jacob helped build the first Protestant church in Canada in Williamsburg and also the first Protestant church in Matilda Township....
