Mission: Impossible

I've noticed this game has taken a bad rap, simply because it's not GoldenEye. No shit Sherlock. GoldenEye is GoldenEye, Mission: Impossible is not. It is, however, a game that emphasises stealth above all, which GoldenEye was supposed to do, but just never got around to it.

In other words, the majority of the game is mainly sneaking around.

Graphically, it's got nothing to boast about, but then again, it's not like it uses the expansion pak. The weapons are few, but then again, your goal is not to run around killing people.

Yes, this is a strategic action game, as hard to believe as it is.

The one thing that I did find very noteworthy was the laser-pipe descent from the movie (you know, when he's going down to break into the computer, and has to avoid shitloads of infrared security lines?). It's one of the hardest parts of the game, too, but I thought it was just very cool.

So yes, there's also a lot of acrobatics. It's also not a first-person shooter, like I hoped it would be, but that's okay. I'm starting to get a burgeoning array of non-First-Person-Perspective games, so I am getting used to it :p

I also am not a big fan of acrobatics, and yet, as much as this game did piss me off at times (and all of my games have, GE included), I really liked it. It was something different than "Shoot this, grab that, get the fuck out" kinda thing.

I also didn't catch nearly as many bugs as many of the other reviewers of this game bitched about, which makes me wonder wtf they were smoking when they played it. Hmm.

Anyway, if you want something different than the everyday, I actually would highly suggest this game if you don't mind some strategising with your ass-kickin'.
