Home Darien trip notes
I neither smoke cigars nor own a 10mm pistol but a couple of weeks in the back country does somehting to you. The tree is a juauar scratching post. The cigars were to celebrate the end of our journey through the Darien from the Pacific coast mangrove estuaries to the cloud forests of Cana. A wonderful journey.
This happened while we were in the Darien. These men were taken about twenty miles from where we camped at Cruz de Mono and the grerrillas cross into Panama all the time. It is wise to have an experienced armed guide when hiking the Darien these days.
