Background info on the characters:
Alison Rose Barrington came from a rich family and arrived in Port Charles living with her Nana Barrington. Alison first came into the scene as a candy striper at General Hospital and soon came into the scene as Jamal's girlfriend..for a while lol. Alison soon became friends with Livvie Locke and Jack Ramsey, soon her, Jamal, Livvie, and Jack became closer than ever. Rafe Kovich came to Port Charles from Translvaynia as Lucy's vampire slaying cousin. He came to PC to tell Lucy she is a vampire slayer and to help kill Caleb the vampire. Little did the town know that Rafe was an angel. Caleb killed him 10 years back and he got a second chance on earth. During Miracles Happen, he and Alison tried their hardest to get the couples of P.C back together and at the stroke of midnight after Lucy and Kevins wedding, Rafe left..or did he?

Secrets:
As Alison stayed in the hospital after a fall, she watched the fireworks bring in the year 2002. Soon after the fireworks were done, a bright light shone over Port Charles, and Rafe arrived in her hospital room, but didnt know anything about that bright light. A few days later the two spend the afternoon together in the snow,because Alison wants to let Rafe experience the things he hasnt been able to experience in a while and after Rafe falls and hurts his ankle, Alison asks him what he wants more than anything in the world, and he said he wants to kiss her, and they end up kissing again. Alison, feeling guilty, takes off and runs back to Jamal. When she gets home, she sees that Jamal has invited Valerie to stay again. Alison gets angry and decides to leave Jamal. Rafe finally gets the guts to go and tell Alison how he feels about her. He arrives with pink roses, but little did he know that her and Jamal decided to work things out. Alison then tells Rafe that she can’t see him anymore and he really gets upset. A few days after, Alison stumbles over Rafe’s journal in the Recovery Room to discover his true feelings for her. After that Alison goes home to see a deranged Valerie threatening to kill Alison. All hell breaks loose and Jamal tries to stop Valerie from killing Alison, but he ends up shooting her on accident and Valerie ends up dying. Jamal feels so guilty he starts to become angry with Alison and she decides that she can’t live with this any more, and ends things with him again. Rafe soon comes to the rescue, but Alison doesn’t want to deal with him either. She then decides to move back in with her Nana, but Rafe doesn’t want her to go back to a place where she is unhappy, but still Alison chooses not to listen so Rafe sweeps her off her feet and carries her to an old barn. After talking things out, they both admit to each other that they have fallen for one another and they make love in the barn. Valentines Day comes along and they imagine themselves on a tropical beach. By the wonderful magic of Ed (Raffs dad, fellow angel) he gives his son a Valentines Day present and takes them to that beach. After they get back, they realize they just have a few short weeks together and they try to make the most of it. Alison moves in with Rafe at Lucy’s house. Alison realizes the little amount of time they have and she wants to keep a part of Rafe with her, and she asks him to make a baby with her. He says he can’t, it’s a rule. She’s upset with it, but soon gets over it. Around St. Patrick’s Day, the two have become uncontrollably close, which the thought of Rafe leaving is hard to grasp. Going back to the barn, Rafe and Alison encounter to young kids (little did they know they were angels) The kids claim that the boy is leaving and they want Rafe and Alison to help them. They soon help them and Rafe gets the idea of carving their names into a pole in the barn. After that the kids leave the barn and vanish into thin air. After all the commotion, Alison decides to ask Rafe to marry her, he accepts. As Alison is getting ready, Rafe sets up a beautiful scene in the barn, with flowers, lanterns, and a circle of stones. They exchange beautiful vows and are husband and wife and have an incredible honeymoon. Rafe has kept the secret that someone is dying and going to heaven along with the 3 other angels and himself. After he leaked the secret to Ali, they were both paranoid about the fact that Alison might fill the ‘5th chair’. After that.. Alison takes Rafe up to the attic in the Barrington Mansion and introduces him to a portrait of Alison’s great great great grandmother Rebecca. Rafe then finds out she looks just like one of the angels, Paige, and puts 2 and 2 together and believes that Paige was on earth to bring Alison to heaven. Scared about Alison, Rafe takes Alison away to the woods, to say a very sad good-bye. Rafe disappears and Alison goes running. Crying hysterically, Alison trips and falls onto a train track, and she thought for sure that she was going to die. At the last minute, PAIGE saves her, and Alison discovers that she looks just like Rebecca, and Paige vanishes into thin air. Rafe, back in heaven, thanks Paige for saving Alison.

Superstition
Everyday it gets harder and harder for Alison to be without Rafe. She starts to talk to the portrait of Rebecca, and suddenly one day Rebecca steps out of the portrait. Rebecca then teaches Alison the secret recipe for her magic candles and Alison uses them to get to Rafe. Alison lights the “love” candle and feels closer to Rafe. She dreams of Rafe.. and Rafe has the same dream. In the dream, Rafe gives Alison a pink rose and they dance together. When Alison awakes, she finds the pink rose. Back in heaven, Ed discovers what Rafe did and punishes him with “conscience duty.” Soon an enemy of Rafe’s, James, makes a horrible offer that Rafe seems that he can’t refuse. The deal is for Rafe to sell his soul to James, no matter what the consequences. During this whole time, Rebecca lights a candle that makes Kevin (Livvie’s dad) disappear. The town blames Alison on murdering Kevin, especially Livvie. Rafe came back to Port Charles, but without any memory or Alison or of anything that happened while he was in Port Charles, only of the days before he died. Back up in heaven, Ed made a deal with James that if Rafe gets back to Alison and remembers their love together, Rafe gets a free ticket on earth to have a happy life with Alison. If he doesn’t, James gets Rafe’s soul, and Ed’s as well. When Rafe arrives in Port Charles with no memory, he arrives in the middle of the woods. The first person that sees him is, unfortunately, Livvie. Because of the fact that Livvie is accusing Alison of killing her father, Livvie takes Rafe to a cabin and tells him lies about how they were together, and pretty much doesn’t tell him anything that is true, she even convinces him to marry her, in the barn. (Rafe and Ali's 'place') Alison goes onto the trial for killing Kevin and pleads guilty because she thinks it is useless because she won’t be with Rafe any ways. Right after pleading guilty, Alison collapses and is rushed to the hospital, while Livvie is still throwing lies at Rafe and covering up that he was ever with Alison. But yet he is drawn to the hospital with this candle that he had in his backpack (the candle Rebecca used to make Kevin disappear, if someone lights it, Kevin will come back to Earth)
