Rubin is the all time most talented player in the world. Her forehand, backhand, serve, speed and volleys are all weapons which could make her the top player.

Rubin has played her best tennis of the year to reach the round of 16 at the French Open, where she fell to Seles. Rubin beat Coetzer at the Hopman Cup and Huber in Sydney but fell in the opening round of the Australian Open, making a hat trick of slam first round losses. Rubin reached the 3rd round at Wimbledon where Williams beat her. She in the opening round at the Us Open

1997

Rubin won a tournament in Linz, beating Novotna along the way and she made the fourth round of the Australian Open. She was the key to the USA victory in the Hopman Cup. 1996

Rubin started the year in terrific fashion by defeating Sabatini and Sanchez Vicario at the Australian Open. Rubin won a terrific match 6-4 2-6 16-14 under lights, where she battled the brick wall and bad temper of Sanchez as Rubin led 5-2 in the 3rd before Seles snuck out the win.
