He varies his left handed serve with slices, power and kick serves into one of the biggest weapons in the game. He attacks his forehand during rallies when he is playing well. His volleys and his backhand have improved which has boosted his ranking into the top ten. However he is essentially one dimensional.

1998

Rusedski reached the final of Indian Wells, a super 9 event, where he fell to Rios. His results have not been to flash this year as he fell to Woodbridge in the third round at the Australian Open. After a first round loss at the French Open, he injured his ankle at Queens. He made a gallant attempt to play at Wimbledon, however he was forced to pull out against Mark Draper, Scotts brother. Rusedski saved match points in his first and second rounds at the US open only to fall in 5 sets to Simerink

1997

Rusedski won through to his first slam final by defeating Krajicek and Bjorkman before losing tight 4 set final to Rafter. Rusedski defeated Philipoussis to reach the quarter finals of Wimbledon. He beat Rafter at Queens to reach the semi finals losing a 7-6 in the final set to Ivanisevic. He fell to Ivanisevic in 5 sets to lose the Vienna final.

Rusedski made the final of Corel Springs on clay.

1995
