Magdalena Maleeva has a talented base line game and has been ranked inside the top ten. Along with Huber, she was starting to play some great tennis. However, Maggie was traumatised by the Seles stabbing, as she was the Seles' opponent that day. She was playing well that day as she could have won the match in 3 sets.

Maggie Maleeva is the last of the Maleeva sisters. Manuella Maleeva Fragniere is the eldest sister and has made the semi finals of the US Open twice. The other sister is Katerina, herself a quarter finalist of the US Open. Maggie has not won a match against her sisters in professional tournaments. Maggie is the most talented of the sisters as she is more aggressive.

Maggie Maleeva produces her groundstrokes with power and topspin. She has not really improved her game as her volleys and her serves are solid shots. She has moderate success with doubles. Her second serve is a weakness, particularly in tight situations.  

1998

Maleeva reached the quarter finals of New South Wales Open in Sydney where she beat Rubin and Appelmans. Maleeva has missed the French Open.

1997

Maleeva won her way to the third round of Wimbledon, where she at an opportunity to make the quarter finals, however she lost to Kleinikova.

1996

Maleeva continued her poor form as she drops out of the top twenty. She also reached the Quarter finals of the Hamburg tournament after boycotting the Australian Open.

1995

Maleeva won three tournaments for the year and she was disappointing in the grand slams. She fell 7-6 3-6 10-8 to Basuki in the third round of Wimbledon. She fell in the second round at the US Open, and the opening round of the Australian Open.

1994

Maleeva reached the round of 16 of the French and US Open, losing to Gorrechatagui and Pierce.

1993

Maleeva reached the round of 16 of the US Open where she fell to Novotna. At the French Open she fell to Huber 8-6 in the 3rd set. At the end of year championships she fell -3 1-6 7-6 to Huber in a tough opening round.
