Myrtle Street Building Being Demolished

Myrtle Street Building being demolishedMyrtle Street Building being demolished

Members will be aware that PITY II has continuously, for the last three and a half years, campaigned for the Myrtle Street building, which held so many of our children's illegally retained organs, to be demolished.

As can be seen from the photographs above, work has started on the dismantling of the aforemenioned site. Liverpool City Council advised us that work to demolish this building began on 30th June. It is apparently going to take 12 weeks to complete. The site is to be re-developed but as yet we do not know what their final plans will be. We will keep you informed of any further developments.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
