Professor van Velzen Professor van VelzenConvicted

You will probably have learned from recent news reports about Professor van Velzen being convicted in a Canadian court for committing 'indignity to human remains'.

He is reported to have actually turned up in court and admit to the charges.

His was sentenced to one year's probation in Canada, given a conditional discharge and a fine of 2,000 $Can (About £900) to be paid to medical research.

 

 

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
