Retained Organs Commission
Important Announcement

The Retained Organs Commission have issued a consultation document entitled:
Retained Organs Commission: A Consultation Document on

  • Unclaimed and unidentifiable organs and tissue.
  • A possible regulatory framework.

PITY II has sent a copy of this document to every member along with a covering letter from the ROC.

The document seeks comments, views and responses in relation to a number of important questions about human organs and tissue removed and retained during post-mortem examination.

There are 45 specific questions in total and we urge every one of you to read the document, think about the questions carefully and respond to them.

You should send your responses directly to the Retained Organs Commission by post or by e-mail by the 10th June 2002. If anyone would like an extra copy, we have some left in our office so please contact usl. Alternatively copies can be obtained free from the following address:

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
