Consumers in NHS Research Support Unit - Workshop

As reported in previous newsletters, and in detail in the PITY II Annual Report, the Consumers in NHS Research Unit and PITY II are now in a position to begin planning an Expert Workshop to be held in Liverpool for PITY II members and other interested parties. It has now been decided to invite other support groups from around the country.

Members of the Department of Health branch 'Clinical Ethics & Human Tissue' are to take part and other professionals will be invited A lot of planning will be necessary and it would be of help to us if we had an indication of how many people would be interested in participating in the Workshop.

We have had some response from those who attended the AGM but a wider view would be appreciated. Please let us know if you would be interested in taking part.

Our initial planning meeting is to take place in Mid January 2003.

We published a draft proposal for the workshop in our Annual Report and further copies are available on request.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
