Recent Meetings and Workshops At least one representative from PITY II attended each of the following : 14th
September 2002. Workshop (by invitation) run by the National
Blood Service in Liverpool. 17th September 2002. Meeting at the Royal College of Pathologists to discuss Clause 14 of the CMO's recommendations. 4th October 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Penalties for Non-compliance.' 6th October 2002. The Retained Organs Commission arranged a Pathologist's Workshop in London. PITY II representatives were invited to address the meeting. The subject was 'Post Mortem Examinations- A families perspective'. We accepted the invitation and the opportunity to continue to tell of our experiences and views about what happened to our children and why changes are necessary to make things better for the future. 7th October 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Combined Issues' 9th October 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Consent' 14th October 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Transplantation' 24th October 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Next of Kin' 30th & 31st October 2002. Two representatives attended a conference organised by the Royal College of Medicine .The theme of the debate was about trust in our doctors. The conference was thought to have been primarily for the Medical profession but the committee decided it would be a good idea for PITY II to be represented. The PITY II representatives were well received. 1st November 2002. Workshop. Subject: 'Research & Ethics'
