Litigation Settlement

portcullisYou may recall that some time ago, as part of the litigation settlement, £10,000 was given as a donation by the University of Liverpool and Alder Hey hospital towards a permanent Memorial Stone to be erected in memory of the children involved in organ retention.

Goodman's Solicitors are holding this money in Trust. Families were asked at the time for their suggestions for a permanent memorial. Unfortunately very few suggestions were received; therefore, no decisions have yet been made about a permanent Memorial.

In November 2005 there was a news item in the Liverpool Echo stating that a bronze Memorial statue had been erected in St. Johns Gardens, Liverpool, in memory of Road Traffic victims.

The memorial , see below, was designed by a local sculptor, Tom Murphy and cost £10,000.
We are going to enquire whether or not it would be possible to have a meeting with the sculptor to see if he could design a sculpture in memory of children involved in organ retention.

Please check the PITY II Website for any updates.

Roadpeace, a bronze by Tom MurphyThis sculpture is in St Johns Gardens, at the back of St. Georges Hall, and is by Merseyside sculptor Tom Murphy.

It is a memorial to people killed or injured on Liverpool's roads.

It is in the shape of a traffic bollard, surrounded by items found at crash scenes such as a teddy bear, a shoe, glasses, mobile phone and walking stick.
