The Future of the Group

Most of the activity of the group so far, in addition to supporting parents, has been directed towards the Independent Inquiry. Once the Inquiry has reported there will be a need to step back and decide the future direction of the group.

A number of members have indicated that they may withdraw from the group at that point, whilst others have indicated that nothing less than a public inquiry will satisfy them.

There will no doubt be many things to consider, and a meeting will be arranged for all members sometime in September. We will consider the Inquiry Report, and decide on a future strategy.

There will be a need to elect a new committee. There have already been some major changes in the committee. As you have probably heard, Joan Wheeler has resigned as Chair of the group, and a committee member. Ed Bradley has taken over as Acting Chair until a more permanent arrangement can be made. Some of the other committee members, including Wendy Natale, the Secretary, have indicated that they will not be continuing on the committee indefinitely.

If you would like to nominate anyone to the committee, or as Chair or Secretary, nominations should be put in writing to the Secretary, Wendy Natale, and be posted or e-mailed to the office listed above. A closing date for nominations will be advised when we know when the meeting will be. You must of course check that the person you are nominating is willing to stand.

 

 

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
