Merseyside Police

Many parents have contacted the police over the last 18 months to see if they would take any action over the organ retention at Alder Hey. The police have said that they were waiting for the outcome of the Redfern Report before they took any action. Goodmans Solicitors have followed this up, and received this reply

Dear Sirs

As you are aware, Mr Michael Redfern QC has now completed his report into The Royal Liverpool Children's Inquiry. The report has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A matter such as this obviously requires very thorough and careful consideration and the Director of Public Prosecutions is currently conducting a detailed analysis of the report. The Director has the lawful responsibility to decide upon criminal prosecutions in such cases and will ultimately direct Merseyside Police in this regard.

Merseyside Police are liaising with the Director of Public Prosecutions and will thoroughly and professionally undertake further investigations as directed.
