House plants, and bunches of fresh flowers always look great in your home, but if you have cats, you need to be careful about which ones you choose. In the table below I have included some of the more common plants and flowers that, in some cases are harmless to us, but dangerous for cats.
As a cat owner you will no doubt know that a plant or vase of flowers is almost irrisitible to most of our furry friends. Why not plant them a pot of lawn grass or "cat grass" (available at pet shops) for them to have a nibble on?

If your cat does eat a plant that is on the list, make sure you take her to the vet IMMEDIATELY, do not wait for symptoms to appear, as this may be too late. Take some of the plant with you when you go, to make identification easier for the vet. |

It's not all bad news, there are still many cut flowers and indoor plants that are not poisonous, make sure that these are the ones that you select. There is a list of them HERE
But in general it is better to teach new kittens that nibbling the flora is a "no-no" |
