| Sailor Venus isn't your every day, run of the mill Senshi. She was fighting way before anyone else started to realise their powers. She was the heroin "Sailor V" and if you look in some of the earlier episodes of Sailor Moon [Before she joined them] then you will actually see the Scouts playing a "Sailor V" video game, or shots of her in the newspaper. "Code Name: Sailor V" was actually a manga written by Takeuchi Naoko, who wrote the "Sailor Moon" manga. It was said that Minako was intended to be the original Moon Princess before Naoko changed it, but if you ask me, I think it was intended to be a rouse from the start. As we all know [and if we don't, I am very disappointed in you] Venus is the Roman goddess of love; and, actually, the only planet in our solar system to be named after a goddess. If you look at the planet Venus from orbit, then you will see that it's nice, thick [poisonous] atmosphere appears to be a yellowy-orangey colour - hence both the powers ["Venus Love Chain - encircle!"] and her colour [yellowy-orangey]. There is much, much more to tell about Sailor Venus - such as how she found out about her powers alone and without the rest of the Senshi, having Artemis instead of Luna to aid her – but I don't think I have enough room.
