The fictional fantasy movie "Ghost Rider" had strong religious overtones within it.
Certain Scripture verses come to mind pertaining to such, though being expressed in a strangely-twisted or even blasphemous way in the movie:
"My name is Legion, for we are many" (Mark 5:9)
"....you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and with fire" (Luke 3:16)
"...and they begged Him to not command them to depart into the abyss" (Luke 8:31)
"....I am in anguish in this flame" (Luke 16:24)
"For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40)
"...who makes His angels winds, and His servants flames of fire" (Hebrews 1:7)
"...those who because of fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage" (Hebrews 2:15)
"....there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries" (Hebrews 10:26)
"Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the LORD" (Deuteronomy 32:35, Romans 12:19, Hebrews 10:30)
"...our God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29)
"The Judge is standing at the doors" (James 5:9)
"And they were judged by what they had done" (Revelation 20:12-13)
"...love is as strong as death....its flashes are flashes of fire, a vehement flame of the LORD" (Song of Solomon 8:6)
Inferences to some Biblical verses were distorted or missing in the movie, such as:
"Beside that, a great chasm has been fixed, so that no one can pass from there to here, and none can pass from here to there" (Luke 16:26)
"There is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12)
"Love never ends" (I Corinthians 13:8)
"The greatest of these is love" (I Corinthians 13:13)
"The weapons of our warfare are not not worldly, but have divine power to destroy strongholds" (II Corinthians 10:4)
"If any one preaches a different gospel than the one we preached to you, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:8,9)
"You have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins" (Ephesians 1:7)
"in Whom you were sealed for the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30)
"At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow" (Philippians 2:10)
"...He is the Head of all rule and authority" (Colossians 2:10)
"God is love" (I John 4:8,16)
Even though Satan is said to disguise himself as an angel of life, the Devil in Ghost Riders who wore a long black trenchcoat Matrix-style (along with the son of the Devil who also wore one) and who signed up people to sell their soul for deceptive mortal benefits....was portrayed much too nicely in the movie with occasional sharp teeth in flaming skeleton head. Indeed, it is not in Lucifer's power to make and break eternal covenants with people, being that God alone is the commissioner and enforcer of such permanent agreements. Satan and his sidekick demons have no power over fire nor water nor wind, nor can they inflict fiery punishment on either the good nor the evil except as the Holy Trinity through Christ Jesus allows.....but they themselves will be consigned to His apportioned outer-darkness flames of Hades and Hell by the Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ.
The Divine Creator has given His human creatures the potentially-dangerous capacity to make permanent decisions either for or against Him.
Contrary to what some confusing and mixed-up pseudo-lutherans believe, it is NOT a wrongly-semantical case of "either rejecting or not rejecting him," being that the positive is Scriptural as to the active human-initiative command to: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you"....rather than incorrectly and merely stating: "He who does not disbelieve [a faulty double-negative] the Son of God has eternal life." Instead, properly-put theology simply quotes the exact Biblical words: "He who believes the Son of God has eternal life [regardless of whose power that is performed with, and/or who gets the credit in this case, since obviously "every good and perfect gift is from above" - including humanity's God-given capacity to make their own freewill choice].
Moreover, once a person makes that decision sometime during his or her life, many similar but lesser decisions are also made to reinforce that one-time once-and-for-all major decision to either support or instead be against the Lord.
To completely surrender and totally commit onesself to either Jesus Christ or instead Satan is the inevitable phenomenon each human will not only make sometime during their life but also by the end of their life upon their death, which fateful choice will determine their eternal destiny not adjudicated nor executed by the Devil, but rather by Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, who will separate the saintly "sheep" from the wicked "goats" on Judgment Day.
One final thing.
Human love and kindness (even the man-with-woman romantic/erotic type), along with human law-enforcement enactment of violent vengeance against evildoers, never absolves anyone of sins, nor are either one of those Satan-conquering mechanisms to release souls from GOING TO hell by either deliberate or tricked-into-it contract and/or BEING IN and/or STAYING in hell. The ONLY effective and legitimate second-chance genuine atonement and supernatural sacrifice existent is the bloody death of Christ Jesus who was resurrected Himself and someday will resurrect all others to either one of two states of eternal destiny.
Many movies I have seen are depressing, where the heroes do some exciting things and then have children, then grow old, get crippled or diseased, and die, ending up in the cemeteries. Is it fair? Beyond that, is it fair that God will FOREVER consign us to either an eternity of mournful and regretful solitary confinement in The Tormenting Outer-Darkness Lake of Fire, or instead in "eternal rest" always being dressed in long-sleeved long white robes with no erotic nudity nor sexual intercourse? All that inclines one to exclaim: "How BORING!" even though we have been given a little info about the exquisite beauty of Heaven causing the righteous to joyously praise God, and the better-to-curse-God-with hot and pitch-black horrors of Hell for the wicked.
But in either case, it is The Will of God that we humans were born into and find ourselves trapped within, so the choice we are forced to make (whether we like it or not) is to do what is required to end up in the eternal place we are assured of going to depending upon the lifestyle ideology and behavior chosen which is involved with that particular choice.
