THIS IS IAN'S STORY........
(You love this accounting of an introductory ride given to a bystander!)
We flew up to Enfield at the Enfield Dam (3 foot or so up rapids with some nice boiling water below). Anyway we stopped briefly on a mud flat in front of a guy's house just above the falls. He asked for a ride.
Well he hopped in and I asked his consent as to if he wanted a 'wet' ride or a 'dry' ride. He consented (chose) the wet ride.
Well, we went straight south out to the falls and at 30 mph or so over the falls into the white water. Well, he started to panic as we approached and looked to be maybe thinking of jumping out to take his chances. I stopped him and assured him we do this all the time. A few twirls around the falls and back. He was rather drenched but had a great time and might be a convert.
I suspect he's still talking about the ride. Pete says the locals associate going over the falls with a bad outcome!
Just worth thinking of with the uninitiated. It didn't occur to me as we do the falls whenever we're out this way (I lost an engine in my Vanguard going up once!).
