16. Charles Poole MARSDEN I was born on 25 February 1828 in New York City. He was a Sea Captain/Navigator between 1848 and 1900. He traveled to California to stake a claim in 1849/50 but lost all of the gold when his ship sank. All that remained was a single nugget which he used for a wedding ring for his wife Mary A. DEVOE whom he married in 1853. He resided 127 Hawthorne Avenue 
in 1900 in City of Yonkers. He died on 17 June 1900 in City of Yonkers and was buried in 1900 in Oakland Cemetary, Yonkers, New York.
