16Charles Poole MARSDEN I was born on 25 February 1828 in New York City. He was a Sea Captain/Navigator between 1848 and 1900. He traveled to California to stake a claim in 1849/50 but lost all of the gold when his ship sank. All that remained was a single nugget which he used for a wedding ring for his wife Mary A. DEVOE whom he married in 1853. He resided 127 Hawthorne Avenue in 1900 in City of Yonkers. He died on 17 June 1900 in City of Yonkers and was buried in 1900 in Oakland Cemetary, Yonkers, New York.

17Mary A. DEVOE was born in March 1836 in New York. She resided New York City in 1853 in New York. She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, New York.

Their children were:



iii. Harry R. MARSDEN was born in July 1861. He was a superintendent of machines in 1900 in New York. He married  Cora B. LYLE who was born c 1868 in Newark, New Jersey and died 1952 in Yonkers, New York. He died before 1952.
