This challenge is pretty much a Willow/Angel, but before you W/S shippers get incensed and start, like , flaming me or something, I'll say that it's possible to make this *any* ship. It's just the background idea that counts.
This is it: It's another take on Angel's curse (no, not that one. That one!). Heh heh. Don't mind me. It's that pesky soul curse, of course. Here goes:
What if the curse worked both ways? That is when Angel has a moment of pure happiness the soul goes pbth, right? So... how about it's like a negative feedback loop ( sorry, just took a Bio test) in that if *Angelus* has a moment of pure happiness, the soul is called back?
Think about *that* for a second.
Or, if Angelus has a moment of pure despair the soul comes back. Whatever, choose your extreme. The point is it will get complicated.
If you choose the happiness-screws-things-up option, remember to keep in mind that pure happiness for Angelus will be just as complicated to achieve as it might for Angel. Killing Buffy might bring him happiness -- killing just anybody wont'. that was a hint, by the way.
The curse could switch back and forth every time: like, say Angel loses his soul. Angelus kills Buffy or something, experiences pure happiness, the soul gets catapulted right back in. Bu what if the curse switched...? Like, next time Angel would lose his soul, it would have to be from despair. And then when Angelus gets the soul back it's from despair. It's a sort of spiral, and could be a *lot* of fun to do, especially if you come up with weird, obscure rituals.
Now, think about one last thing: This could be so many 'ships it's not funny. Willow/Angel, it could be; Cordelia/Angel is another; Willow/Spike, Willow/Spike/Angel... Just about Angel... it could be anything as long as the 'ship is majorly disrupted by the soul problem.
