Meteorites

Since moving to Interlachen, Florida last year I have decided to address a lack of rock and mineral education in our area by writing a Rockin' article in a local Lesbian newspaper. Thought it might be Fun to publish it here. I'm a retired M.S. Ag/Environmental Engineer with much oil field lithological/rock analysis experience. I worked with Schlumberger, our planet's most advanced such group (French) and light years ahead of NASA. Engineers are applied physicist using physical/natural laws through numerology, so to speak, to analyze situation and design solutions. Geologists, like architects or nurses, must work under a licenced professional. Well, one long lonely night in a desolate oil field I began to wonder that if Jupiter, alone, is 63 times the size of our Earth then aren't we looking the wrong direction with our mineralogy? Down as opposed to up? Being an over educated over achiever I began doing research and decided we should accept and honor the things that fall to us from the heavens.

Until the late 1800’s fallen stars, meteorites or bætals were thought by white patriarchal culture to be natural weather phenomenon like lightning or hail. The African, Asian, Native North and South American and the old European Matriarchal cultures never questioned their extra-terrestrial origins. They were considered holy heavenly presents of prophecy. As we all know, meteorites give off light during a certain portion of their fall. This magical light prompted a recent NASA quote, “The majority of the mass of a meteor escapes through the rainbow spectrum of light.” This escaped mass cannot be accounted for by them, and questions Einstein’s theory of relativity (E = mc2 -- where matter and energy can be neither created or destroyed). Oh, by the way, while the meteor is giving off light is exactly the time we are supposed to make our wish!

Most bætals are of a chalky type that crumble on impact and many more go unrecognized because they resemble terrestrial rocks so closely. Of the ones recovered, iron and nickel-iron ones predominate. These are 93% iron and 5% nickel and were early people’s only source of smelted metals/steel until nearly recent times. These are believed to be the elfin steel of the magical swords that broke the other unsmelted swords (wrought iron) in European, Asian and African herstories/histories. King Arthur’s Excalibur is said to be a sword from a very dense heavy stone from the sky and hammered (pulled) by short people in caves. Sir Thomas Mallory's complete quote, "a sword pulled from a stone from the sky". Attila the Huns sword and most all magical Arabian and Chinese daggers are as well. The largest consumers of nickel-iron bætals today are Japan and Thailand, for bell and sword making. As a talisman, these gifts from the heavens have long been valued for providing protection and as truth binding amulets. The are the 7th(and secret) ingredient in Tibetan bells (metals) and compose most famous East Asian bells (like the one rang yearly at Hiroshima).

Tektite meteorites are clear quartz (silicon dioxide) with different metals providing the color. Remember being taught in chemistry class that metals and non-metals form true (covalent) bonds and only metals and non-metals. Well, that rule applies only in gravitational fields. In outer space, or non-gravitational fields, metals form true covalent bonds. Green/clear tektites are called Moldavite and fell, all in one fall, 15 million years ago in the Molda River Valley in Czechoslovakia. They are composed of clear quartz with aluminum and titanium bonded together (not alloyed), and are the origin of Superman’s Kryptonite and the clear aluminum of Star Trek fame. Some say that Moldavite is from an exploded planet around the Cygon sun of the Pleidian constellation. Others say it’s the windshield out of an ancient spaceship. The Holy Grail is considered to have been from Moldavite by the ancient Caesarian healer-women (correct area anyway). It would have been the first fire/high heat safe cookware for serious sterilization of instruments and clear. Currently, the Czech government, the Queen of England and the Pope are the world’s largest owners of Moldavite ~ due to confiscating it from their peasantry (said has very strong effects on humans/mammals). The book Moldavite: Starborn Stone of Transformation has additional information. Clear yellow/green tektites or Libyan glass are meteoric periot.

Black tektites, or African dark crystals, are 126 metals bonded together in clear quartz – remember our planet only has 7 actual metals. These fell 65 million years ago in a band across North Africa, Saudi Arabia, the Indian Ocean, Southern India, Thailand and Northwestern Australia. In all the places black tektites fell, people considered them to be oracle stones and many put them under their temples (see Merlin Stone’s Ancient Mirrors of Womenhood or Buffy Johnson’s The Lady of the Beast). All 7 Ancient Oracles kept tektites as a focus of their shrine. They were found under each of the three pillars of the Minoan temple at Knossos, Crete, as well as the many other ancient women’s sites. The Temple of Diana at Epheus (one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world) housed a dark crystal as its main focus. Most were eventually destroyed by the conquering male armies, but the one belonging to the Goddess Elat or Eliot (Ishtar) survives today in the Kabba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Kabba is the sacred temple of the Moslem's and lies within the sacred city of Mecca toward which all Moslems must pray and make a pilgrimage (see Washington Irving’s Life of Mohammed, for the Moslem’s ritual and pre-Mohammedan herstory). Interestingly, Moslems pray to a god five times a day facing Mecca, but all of their bowing is to a fallen star stolen from a Goddess shrine!

Colombianite is from the eastern slopes of the Colombian Andes, and very little, to date, has been found. They are a clear silver quartz and probably high in aluminums but I’ve found no printed material. Mine came from a friend, who went there looking and bought them from local farmers.

Two other basic types of wishing stars are achondrites and chondrite. Achondrites are simple igneous rock from other worlds. Chondrites are similar but contain Chondrules. When our sun exploded in her "big bang" there was so much energy turning to mass that there was no place for the light to go so it caved in on itself and became like "freeze dried light". The sparkley stuff are fusion metals or all the metals in our solar system in one formed in a fusion reaction. All these forms of matter bang and slam into each other quite abit in space ending up composites containing most everything and are called stoney iron meteorites. I find these the most fascinating of all. Some are picked up by comets and contain many hydrocarbons, amino acids, undefined matter and crystals. (See O. Richard Norton’s Rocks from Space for chemical analysis) Wanna carry a pocket rock that contains ancient frozen light from your own Sun and amino acids from the other end of the universe?

Carbonaceous meteorites are our oldest sources of found matter, show the highest degree of metamorphosis of any matter, and are our only source of extraterrestrial water, organic carbon compounds and fatty acids. They show evidence of freezing and thawing many times over many many millennium forming some incredible structures and minerals unique only unto themselves. Serpentines are common. Many are magnetic with no metals present? One source is believed to be comet head pieces that have either faded off in cooling or tail sections our planet has passed directly through. Some even hold inclusions that show traits that predate what we define as matter and our universe. Tales/tails of other worlds! There is becciated matter also present that is formed by repeated impacts in space and doesn’t occur on our Earth (a sort of "beat to death/unstructured" matter). It all shines up nicely (being a jeweler) but personally, I sorta like the undefined and undifferentiated matter forms. Undifferentiated matter is not composed of protons, neutrons or electrons but random particles of random charge (migrating) that just stay together because they want to. Much of it is something that’s defined as nothing? Makes one wonder about nothingness, attachments and Buddhist thought...

Meteorites are all named by fall site and then numbered. Each fall is unique and many have a recorded chemical analysis. The meteorite chemistry world is in a mad evolution revolution today but we do know that many non-earthly metals (and things) are present and by 1985, seventy-four amino acids had been positively identified. Eight of these are associated with protein synthesis in living systems and are biologically significant on Earth. The remaining fifty-five amino acids are not found on Earth.

If all is really one and Earth/Universe/Mom are just one inter-splashing homogeneous blend then please remember one thing from me/this crazy little article ~ when you see a meteorite light up ....... WISH! That little hunk of your Universal Mother might not be definable as anything but something/nothing escaping our rainbow but she's going into a place where may all your dreams/wishes come true!

Blessings
