Heredity
Heredity:
The
transmission of physical and psychological characteristics from
parents to offspring. The extension of characteristics from one
generation to another is not all inclusive, since the young may
all resemble the father, or all may resemble the mother, or half
may resemble one parent and the remaining half the other, thus transmitting
traits from distant ancestors as well.
