Pyorrhea
(peridontitis): A
disease of the gums surrounding the teeth resulting in the eventual
loss of a tooth if not treated. The affliction is found chiefly
in old cats. Symptoms are hesitancy to chew hard food, also bleeding
gums. Treatment is removal of plaque and/or tartar.
