· Indians capsule: Coach Matt Burnett's Indians put together easily their season's finest game last Friday, delivering 48 minutes of intensity and barely escaping with a 20-14 win over highly regarded Lincoln. Senior QB Tony Bowser earned a starting assignment for this week by completing 5 of 8 passes for 71 yards. Senior TB Jeff Bergeron had his second-best running total with 72 yards and a TD. Senior WR/K Joey Price booted FGs of 43 and 49 yards. Junior CB Keegan Swann has two first-quarter interceptions and senior DE Justin Mercer led the tacklers with eight first hits.

· Bears capsule: David Williams' Battlin' Bears ran into a third straight 20-4A buzzsaw last week when Thomas Jefferson struck early to ruin LC-M's homecoming, 37-7. QB Derrick Humberson and WR Chad Smith hooked up on a 42-yard second-quarter touchdown pass tp account for the Bears' lone touchdown. Smith has been one of several productive defenders along with Chris Daniels and tackle Ezra Aytes. Leading offensive weapon has been junior halfback Justin Sibley.

· Burnett says: "LC-M is scary. They have the offensive line to move it but they have fallen behind early in some games and they have had difficulty being able to move their offense. But LC-M can be real trouble if their offense can get in the right situation.... Lincoln was our best game by far. Our zone blitz was the key to our defensive coverage, and (Tony) Bowser did a great job, made some things happen in the second half and handled himself real well."

· Williams says: "I think TJ built a momentum from the win over PN-G. Our kids have worked hard all year. We definitely need to score more points from the running attack We've had to deal with some quarterback injuries that have hurt us somewhat.... (Joey Price and Jeff Bergeron) They are the two guys you really have to watch out for. Price can hurt you two different ways with his kicking and he's one of the best receivers in our district."
