Eketahuna Hydro Power Station equipment

This Boving Pelton wheel turbine was installed at the new Eketahuna Hydro Power Station in 1913, to serve the small town of Eketahuna, in Northern Wairarapa. It was restored by the Tararua Electric Power Board in 1987 for the centenary of electricity in New Zealand. With the addition of a pump and water, this turbine is run. (Photos: VAB, 25/2/2001)
