When connecting to a secure web site using Pocket
Internet Explorer you may receive one of the following error messages:
The page you are looking for cannot be found.
-or-
Unable to establish secure connection.
After you receive these messages the Internet Explorer logo will continue spinning indefinitely. This problem can occur with both 40-bit and 128-bit versions of Pocket Internet Explorer.
This problem is caused by a new hashing algorithm (SHA1) for the Secure Sockets Layer provided by VeriSign. Pocket Internet Explorer cannot connect to a site that uses SHA1 for SSL.
Pocket PC users can download a fix to this problem from http://www.pocketpc.com. Unfortunately, Handheld PC Professional users will not be able to find a fix at this time. The 128-bit upgrade for the Handheld PC Professional does not handle SHA1.
