Wasted Youth
Days and nights waiting for you, There could never be anyone better than you, There could never have been a better day, There could never have been a better life, Than that very moment spent with you. The wind came but it could not take your love away from me, We were so close together, I thought for once I would forever be happy with you, But it was all too good to be true, The rain finally came and took your love away. Could there be another sadder moment, Than that very heartbreaking night, When I sat all alone waiting for you to return, But the candles soon faded without you, The night gave out with the waiting, My heart left me when the door open, But you were not there, It was only the wind, The cold summer wind. I waited for you with all my heart, I waited for the day when you would return, But all that came were the flowers, The snow and the colorful leaves, One by one they grow and die, Then they fell onto my feet, They would remind me of you, Remind me of the hush reality that you were gone, There could not have been a sadder moment, When in the night, I dreamed that you were coming back to me, I opened my arms to hold you, To feel the love that I have missed for so long, I held out my hands for yours, But all I could hold, All that I could touch was the wind, The lying wind that broke my heart even more than ever. |
