Nobody

Nobody's ever told you
That you're the one they think about
They never tell thier friends either
Afraid of the laughter that would ring in thier ears afterward
So they keep it hidden
Telling only thier closest friends
After they are sure they won't judge them
But they think about it constantly
Wondering where you are
Or if you're thinking about them
Wondering why you never noticed them before
They begin to realize that they care for you
No matter how much they deny it
To anyone who suspects it
Even after that person gives them the "knowing" look
But they still don't admit it
As they listen to your song over and over again
"I'm surprised that you've never been told before
That you're lovely and you're perfect
And that somebody wants you."
That's the part that reminds them of you
The lines ring through their head
Over and over
As they attempt to conceal thier feelings
And then attempt to make them disappear
Or at least ignore them for a little while
Until it's safe to let them out
Until they know they won't get hurt
By past-obbsesed friends
Or present ones
With some of them it's both
So they keep ignoring it
Until it goes away
Maybe to the spot in thier ears
Where it's still ringing
from the sounds of everyone's laughter
