Looking back over the years gone by
It's been so long since we've seen each other
You haven't been far from my thoughts
You were a friend who was like no other.

There are so many memories that I have
For I forget so few
As the days go by I still remember
The days I shared with you.

I can still see your smile
That warmed me when we were together
And through my laughter and my tears
You always found a way to be there.

You always accepted me as I was
On you I could depend
You were always so special to me
You were such a wonderful friend.

You always gave a helping hand
And showed how much you care
And when I needed a shoulder
You were always there.

But somehow we had lost contact
and we slowly drifted apart
I lost one of my true friends in you
and that broke my heart.

But life has changed for me now
I've come to learn much more
The value of true friendship
That I never knew before.

Your friendship is worth so much more
That I could ever compare
I've come to value what we have
And appreciate what we share.

Now years later our paths have crossed
and we made our amends
Thank you for your forgiveness
And thank you for being my friend.
