Black or White

Life is simply black and white
there are no shades of grey
For values can't be measured
according to the lifestyle of the day.

The truth is laid out simply
it's there for those to choose
And can't be changed to suit the way
that in the end, will lose.

"I am the Way, the Truth, the Life;
and Heaven is through Me,"
But one must buy a ticket
or pay Eternally.

Our sins are forgiven or they're not
it's that black or white
For that kind of grey uncertainty
simply wouldn't be right.

God is a God who can't be changed
nor will He hide away
You either accept Him or reject Him -
which is it today?

Beliefs shouldn't take a backseat
at the risk they will offend
Though it's easier to be in the crowd
than it is to make a stand.

God's Word is filled with absolute truth
just seek and you will find
There are no rules, just results -
His way is a life divine.

"I have come so that you may have
life more abundantly",
It's a choice we make, this life we live
our choice for Eternity.

He'll come for those who've chosen Him
like a thief in the night
What will it be on Judgement Day?
the choice will be black or white.

There is no room for indecision
or sitting on the fence
God wants us to make a choice -
are we for Him or against?

"I wrote this poem after a discussion with someone....we agreed to disagree though I felt strongly enough to write how I felt about my beliefs, though I am not directing my words to this person at all.   She is a strong person who I find to be wise...though she doesn't see life as black and white as I do, and tends to see it more grey....and I resepct her decision and accept that.   I, on the other hand, see that life is black and white, and we have a choice as to what to do with it.  God gave us minds of our own to make our own decisions ~ and I see the answers are black and white.   I see the path is black and white ~ we either go this way or that.   I see a black and white choice in life ~ we either accept it or reject it.  But one thing remains the same....the choice is ours."
