As the
early morning sunlight
falls
across her face
She
smiles with a radiance
of beauty
and of grace ~
Opening
her eyes
to the
morning's fresh bouquet,
As she
realised with excitement
this
is her wedding day!
She looks
out of the window
the
mist is in the air
The
beauty in the meadows,
springtime
is everywhere ~
All
around the Castle
the
day has come alive
As a
happy jubilation
fills
the mountain-side.
Relishing
the thoughts
that
the day may have in store
She
feels anticipation
like
she never has before ~
Then
opening the door
her
maid walks in the room
With
her breakfast on a tray
and
a note from her groom.
"Good
morning, my darling"
the
note began to say
"I cannot
wait to see you
on this
our wedding day ~
My heart
is filled with pride,
this
love I feel for you
When
today we walk together
and
join our hearts anew."
A smile
on her face
as she
emerged from her bed
Filled
with such excitement
for
the day that lay ahead ~
With
the help from her maid
they
began to do her hair
As she
gazed at the gown
that
she was to wear.
Inside
the silent Castle walls
now
a hive of activity
With
people sent to capture
the
princess' beauty ~
This
is her special day
filled
with happiness
Her
elegance shall radiate
in all
her loveliness.
As servants
fill the ballroom
with
adequate seating
The
floral sprays on tables
and
candles for lighting ~
Preparations
for food
as music
fills the air
For
all has been arranged
with
thoughtfulness and care.
Within
her room the princess
steps
back for all to see
As they
gaze in wonder
at her
sheer beauty ~
Smoothing
over the gown
her
face a happy grin
Her
heart's anticipation
for
the wedding to begin.
Looking
out the window
across
the mountain side
She
sees her guests arriving
and
congregate outside ~
With
a warm excitement
she
feels within her heart
For
the journey they are taking
is just
about to start.
Music
fills the grounds
behind
the Castle walls
She's
waited for this moment
as she
steps into the hall ~
Shining
in her beauty
her
father takes her hand
While
the tears in his eyes
says
he understands.
A sense
of gratitude
is seen
upon her face
As she
takes her father's arm
he will
lead her to the place ~
To the
one who is waiting
with
love in his heart
As they
enter life together
to their
wedding march.
The steps
they take together
walking
side by side
Filled
with love and happiness
their
hearts are filled with pride ~
They
journey to the altar
to exhange
their wedded vows
Their
promises of love
will
be of forever now.
She
looks with adoration
upon
her lover's face
Knowing
that tonight
she
will be in his embrace ~
Her
knight of love and passion,
the
one that she adores
Will
now be her's forever
more
than ever before.
"I give
to you this wedded ring,
a token
of my love,
A promise
of my everything
and
all we have dreamed of" ~
"My
darling husband, I give to you
my body,
mind and soul
For
with you I am complete,
your
love has made me whole."
A look
of radiance on her face
as she
stopped to kiss
The
man with whom she was joined
together
in wedded bliss ~
As a
smile played upon her lips,
this
happiest day of her life
As the
ceremony came to a close
declaring
them husband and wife!
Amidst
showers of confetti
they
made their way outside
Engulfed
by such excitement
with
her husband by her side ~
Greeting
all their guests
that
came from near or far
Thanking
all for sharing this
from
the bottom of their hearts.
As celebrations
continued
long
into the night
With
a wedding feast
for
the princess and her knight ~
There
was music and dancing
for
each and everyone
To enjoy
the jubilations
till
the rising of the sun.
Music
could still be heard
throughout
the Castle's halls
But
the princess she lay sleeping
with
her husband she adores ~
And
as the early morning sunlight
filters
through the mist
In this
Castle of love she dreams
that
it will always be like this.

"This
poem could be seen as a sequel to my previous poem "Knight
of Love", since the princess is marrying her knight in this tale.
When I set out to write this poem, that was my intention, though this story
can have a tale of its own as well. What it comes down to is the
once quiet Castle is now a hive of activity with preparations and then
the celebrations of the princess' wedding. The Castle once stood
simply as a commanding structure, but we see in the final stanza the princess
now sees it as her Castle of love. This is where she met the knight;
this is where she married him; and this is where she begins her life with
him. He is, after all, a knight and is needed at the Castle
for the king, so we can't see them living somewhere else. But the
beauty of it is the good memories which now make it the Castle of Love
~ their home."
