The echoes in the stillness
awake to hear the sound
Of water falling softly
to the moss-covered ground.
The coolness in the shadows
of the Daintree early morn
As life slowly comes alive;
another day is born.

The alarms of the morning
echo all around
Calling through the forest
that comes alive with sound.
As a stream gently flows
along the forest's naked floor
The trickle of a rockpool to
a cascading waterfall.

Nature of the tropics
and of warmer weather
Where rainforest animals
and birds of a feather
Dwell amongst the coolness
of the greenery and trees
Shadowed from the sunlight
by the shrubbery and leaves.

The laughter of the kookaburra
the various calling doves
Hidden amongst the tree branches
shadowed from above.
The cooling sounds of water
trickle along the ground
As the Daintree wakens with splendour
amidst rainforest sounds.

A crystal clear mountain brook,
a stillness in the air
The rainforest's chatter all around,
tranquility everywhere.
Insects and animals of the forest,
birds that sing their song
Makes the Daintree come alive
in beauty, all day long.

A serenity in amidst
the whisper of the breeze
As peace surrounds the forest
in the shadows of the trees;
As the heat of the morning
begins to fill the air
The echoes of the chatter
seem to settle everywhere.

The animals and forest birds
bathe in the still coolness
Of the water in the mountain brook
in the echoes of stillness.
The tranquility of this untouched land
its beauty that transcends
Into a forest filled with nature
and crystal rockpool glens.

The beauty of the rainforest
that awakens every morn
The morning chatter of nature,
a cascading waterfall;
The coolness of the crystal brook
filled with tranquility
A peaceful stillness that surrounds
the beautiful Daintree.

"Morning is a beautiful time anywhere, but morning in the Daintree rainforest in tropical North Queensland would be a spectacular experience! I have never been to far north Queensland let alone to the Daintree, but I was listening to one of my relaxation CDs with nature sounds this morning, and it inspired me to write a poem about morning in the Daintree, with all its nature sounds ~ birds, animals, a trickling brook and a cascading waterall. Although a noisy time, it's still quite peaceful and relaxing to listen to. Sit back, and imagine yourself listening to these nature sounds....and relax in the Daintree."
