Forever
Best of Friends
Alone
in a corner
with
tears in my eyes
My heart
slowly breaking ~
you
heard my silent cries.
Reaching
out your hand
I'm
grateful you were there
To help
and to comfort
to show
how much you care.
You wiped
away my tears
and
gave me peace of mind
A friendship
was formed
that
was so hard to find.
You smile
through my tears
and
cheer me when I'm blue
I wish
I could be like
the
friend I have in you.
Together
we share thoughts
there's
no need to pretend
I know
we will always be
forever
best of friends.

"This
poem I wrote about a very special person who first came to me when
I needed a friend the most ~ when I was in an emotionally abusive relationship.
He was a light in the dark and a shoulder to cry on ~ we became very special
friends. He too wrote me a poem very similar to this about the same
time, unfortunately my ex-husband destroyed it. I will be forever
gratfeul to him for his friendship at that time. I dedicate
this poem once again to him....thank you, D."
