He is the reason
that we have eternal life
He loved us so much
that He gave us HIS life.

He carried our sins
through the streets of shame
And took them with Him
in His righteous name.

He took every burden
every shame, every sin
He hung them on the cross
to die with Him.

He showed us His love
when he suffered and died
The ultimate sacrifice
for our Eternal Life.

He forgave our sins
and gave us love
Shining down on us
from Heaven above.

He hung on the cross
for no other crime
Than forgiving and loving us
through all of time.

He now sits in Heaven
with His Father above
Sending us blessings
and all of His love.

God gave us His son
that we might see
That He is the reason
for life Eternally.

"I wrote much of this poem when I was 16 in High School, though I touched it up and re-wrote it today. Although I kept the underlying message for the poem ~ that God gave us His son Jesus to die for us 2000 years ago for our sins. Here, I describe why He died and what for....the impact of the message is awesome.
He died so that we might live forever, not in body but in spirit ~ why? Because He loves us. Take the love we have for our husband, wife, children, parents....and times it by a hundred, a thousand, a million!  And you will get a glimpse of how much He loves us....and that is awesome!"
