Hot
Summer Days
Summer heat on the
beach
ripples in the sand
Not a cloud in the
sky
in this great southern
land.
With the temperatures
soaring
peaking at midday
Relaxing by the water's
edge
on this hot summer's
day.
A northerly breeze
fills the air
with the rising heat
The golden sand hot
to touch
burning hands and
feet.
Watching surfers catch
the waves
sitting on the sand
Basking in the summer
sun
burning bodies tan.
Enjoying the coolness
of the water
submerging the crashing
waves
Splashing about, the
water refreshes
in the heat of summer
days.
Swimming in the refreshing
coolness
with the heat everywhere
The afternoon sun
continued to shine
as a cool breeze fills
the air.
The stifling heat begins
to fade
but still the warmth
remains
The water refreshes
the hot days
like the gentle summer
rains.
As ripples on the still
waters
form tiny gentle waves
The sun falls to the
sea's horizon ~
another hot summers
day.

Whilst playing around
with PSP7 I made this background, and it inspired
me to write a poem
about my favourite time of the year ~ summer. I love
the beach, the water
and swimming in its refreshing coolness. Although I find
the heat uncomfortable,
I still love this time of year so I can go take a dip in
the water at the beach
or even the freshwater pools near my parent's. The feeling
of being refreshed
by the coolness of the water....
