My Peaceful
Bay
The hills
were green around the bay
and
the water lapped at the rocks below
On the
other side a town stood silent
broken
by a solitary crow.
Its scream
and call echoed around
the
gentle breeze slightly swayed the tree
The
big black bird ventured to rest
and
it appeared to stop and look down at me.
The a
rumbling sound seemed to come from afar
I wondered
what it may be
The
stationery silence around the bay
broke
as the sound came closer to me.
The tranquil
setting of my peaceful bay
the
crow took flight to a distant ridge
The
rumbling of a railway train
now
thundering across a rusty bridge.
Suddenly
my peaceful bay became alive
a thousand
nesting birds took flight
The
mullet jumped and frolicked around
till
the rumbling train went out of sight.
The rusty
old bridge was now quiet again
the
solitary crow returned to its tree
Silence
reigned as I looked around
my peaceful
bay again belonged to me.
