Remember the time we first met
it all seems so far away
Amidst my tears I saw you smile
you wiped them all away.

I remember the times you gave your smile
to cheer me when I felt blue
I realised then how lucky I am
to have found a friend like you.

I remember when we used to talk
on the phone for hours on end
We always had so much to say
we became best of friends.

I remember when we fell in love
and I hid my feelings from you
But then we discovered we felt the same
it was such a dream come true.

I remember exchanging promises
of our future together
The dreams we had, the thoughts we shared
our love will last forever.

Oh I remember everything
from the day that we met
How perfect our friendship was
I shall never forget.

Remember the times that we've shared
and cherish them forever
For no friendship was as strong as ours
when we had each other.

"This poem is about a special person who was once in my life, and I wrote this after we broke up.   We remained friends for a while after, but everytime I looked at him, I wanted to reach out and put my arms around him, and cherish what we had together.   In this poem I talk about all the times we shared that I remember and will never forget, but I am also pleading with him not to let me go....pleading with him to remember all our great times, to cherish them and be friends forever.   But we lost touch....and I know I still remember everything, and I wonder does he?   I will always remember what we had, and cherish that forever."
