Replace It With Your Love

When I feel sorrow and grief
and my world falls apart
Replace it all with Your love
in my broken heart.

When I feel hate and anger
and I'm filled with pain
Replace it all with Your love
and set me free again.

When I feel confusion and loss
and my days are filled with night
Replace it all with Your love
shine on me Your light.

When I feel resentment
and pain inside my heart
Replace it all with Your love
and cleanse every part.

When I feel rejection
and like I'm all alone
Replace it all with Your love
like You've always shown.

When all the times I'm going wrong
and don't know what to do
Please replace it with your love
and make my life brand new!

"This poem was inspired by David Meece and his touching words in his music and song, when I was 16. I wanted to say in my own words what I felt. We are all sinners saved by Grace - God's grace - and I wanted to express words of the desire to be like Him in sending us His love to replace all the bad feelings that we experience from time to time. No one is perfect and just because we are Christians we are no exception. There was once a bumper sticker that went around when I was a kid -
"Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven."
So true. We all make mistakes, and this poem is asking for forgiveness and love....even when we do wrong."
