Relive
~ Remember ~ Reflect

velvet red glimpses i recall
yet so clear as life's most beautiful play
seeing with my dreamer's eye
swimming freely in thought

a woman stands in a room that defies time
stark of furnishing ~ yet infinite in space
the edges just b e y o n d . . . . .
a red glow and shadows move about
not frightening ~ but comforting ~ even common place
as common as sun peeking through a window
yet this lights from within
not brightly ~ yet warmly
more a dark mystique
than that of a light's glare
adjusting as she moves from area to area

she is of youthful slender form
this seeker of wisdom
for the room...s have an aura of knowledge about
she goes to a group of various mirrors
in a slow dance type walk
viewing herself in each
same sleek hair past the shoulders
pristine features ~ inquisitive eyes
each time the same ~ yet subtle enhancements appear
more mental than the glimmer in the physical

turning to yet another
asking the mirror ~ herself ~ the room
"what shall i learn today"
did her lips move or was it a voice overlaid in my mind

she glides to sit at a desk
large sphere upon her left
cube upon her right
a curtain of red glimmer appears from nowhere
yet everywhere
as it fades into form
she seats herself at the desk

neigh. . . it is a vanity in form
as i feel now my view become that of the mirror
the mistress states aloud
" i will learn.
. . no . . . DO a little ªðœµµå today"
the word has no grasp within my memory
yet to her is as algebra to me
needing to be taught
yet knowing the rudiments of the teaching

questions echo to her aloud from the room
her fingers quickly respond touching the desk
the cube and sphere light softly in a variety of ways
a crystalline calculator
assisting as gentle keys of recall
to deep internal memories

now a more ethical question
foreign to my memory ~ yet ethical all the same
agree or not upon some issue of the time
such as "is one land at war still a part of the greater whole of land at peace"

pondering her head lowers slightly
finding the "drapery" behind her
now over her chair
two wrists and hands of red glitter
tap beside her own ~ awaiting an answer

young mind wondering the possibilities
no answer found within the cube and sphere
looking up ~ a glimmer of white light upon an eye
for a moment our eyes meet
through the screen of mirror
touching in her time
as the mistress answers very hesitantly
"i guess i would have to agree"
with a sense of BUT WHY in her voice
knowing the majority would disagree

except for the teacher instinctively replying
"probably because the statement is true"

the teacher fades momentarily
forming like little spots on a fuzzed out tv screen
then unfurls as a mat
behind his very contented pupil
rest befalls her as she almost floats down
wrapping herself in knowledge
as they d r e a m

while words of pali or sanskrit
scroll up before my eyes
as to signal an intermission
slowly a piece of film feeds
its last section of colored frame
through the projector
the dream channel turns to something so hum-drum
i awake to black and white of the "real" world
recalling the script of that which was
or is to be . . . . .
