Lost Among the Trees
By: BJPech

A times wasteland

void in the darkness

Of past recollections

times of loves sorrow

When you left part of me withered

crumbled like brown leaves in autumn

The days that followed

reflections in a pool

My life turned to conflict

existing, but not alive

Caught in the remorse

the memories of a shared existence

That was supposed to be eternal

vows taken, promises made

Now I have to walk the road alone

find my way without her embrace

To come home to a house deserted

where laughter used to resound

Where our children played out their lives

in fantasies of young dreams

The long road I travel now

leading to the willow of tears
