IMPALED on a SPRING DAY
By Knightofthe90s
Splayed out on the earth, I lay on the ground.
In this sparkling Spring sun, your impressions surround.
What to do? My eyes close as I want for repose.
Though alone, I'm immersed into YOU all around.
In delicious indecision, my fabric is rent.
While I ponder my choices: about what is meant.
But my reasoning slows; objectivity goes.
As ever, I'm drugged by your ethereal scent.
Past, present, future: just a blurring of tenses.
The warmth and the sun: all assaulting my senses.
I'm hung by your hope; can't continue to cope.
They're crippled and crushed: my emotional defenses.
Then, suddenly, I'm swirled as if caught by a blender.
This minute--this moment! Such a snapshot of splendor.
Then out of the blue, the struggle is through:
My freefall releases to supple surrender.
