I would like to introduce you to Ashley O'Rear. Ashley is 10 years old and she has cancer (which is when body cells grow uncontrollably).
In the first months of 1997, Ashley started feeling sick and began getting headaches. In March of 1997, she underwent a CAT scan which revealed a brain tumor. This brave girl had to undergo a six-hour operation in order to remove the tumor. Most of the tumor was removed, but doctors were unable to remove part of the tumor because of where it was.
A year later, Ashley is finally winning her battle against cancer!!
I have chatted with her uncle David on ICQ and he told me that she's getting better! Ashley is undergoing painful chemotherapy treatments to get rid of the remaining cancerous cells and they should be over by the end of June. Although she has had a pretty rough time, Ashley has been strong in her fight and has had the support of people from all over the world.
