Animal Legends and Stories

I started this page because I received an email from a Jean-Phillipe Plassard in France. He requested information about dolphins and whales in legends. After I started doing some searching, I found that the stories were kind of interesting and I wanted to share them with everyone. Perhaps someone else out there is doing research on whales and dolphins too. So, here is what I came up with.

First, there is the story of Moby Dick by Herman Melville. Because it is such a famous book, I will not put anything about that story in here. If you want to find out about this one, go to the library!!

I did find a number of other legends and folk tales that are probably not as well known, so I will reproduce them here (for educational purposes only -- please respect copyrights) and you can do whatever you want with them. I have included bibliographical information so you can quote the proper sources.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the bears and I typed all of this manually, so excuse any typos...
