Hi First, I am so very sorry for the loss of your daughter. Animals, our Good Lord knew what he was doing when he created them. I have 5 dogs, 4 cats, 4 kittens, 1 goat, 1 rabbit,and 2 mare horses. I always want more and Hubby says "I only work to feed animals" **S** Yes pets have made a difference in my life. They have given to me without question. Hi. I saw your page and had to comment. I now have my second pom. Rocky, age 2, died recently after somehow swallowing a large piece of elastic and having an obstruction in his intestine. He survived the surgery, but died that evening. I was devastat d and my family (2 brothers, 2 sisters, and parents), understood the loss and immediatley found me 4 poms to check out and choose from. At first the thought of replacing my beloved Rocky was horrible, but I now have Sunshine (the very first pom my parent dragged me off to look at) and while she's much more rambunctious than Rocky, she is beautiful and very mischievous. I lost Rocky on 4/21/00 and the very next morning, Rocky's Sunshine came home with me. I'm still getting over losing Rocky and have ded cated an entire wall to him in my craft/hobby room where he used to lie and watch me embroider or fiddle with the computer. I just recently hung up some of my favorite pictures of him there. Funny ones and some when I groomed and fluffed him and he look d so proud to be so beautiful. As I told my mother after I got him, I will always have a pom in my house. Sunshine is a cream colored female who is at this very moment, still teething and wreaking havoc in my household (last night she was dangling happi y from my living room curtain by her teeth). She looks and acts nothing like Rocky, but that's for the best as I have my wonderful memories of Rocky and his antics and beautiful smile. Sincerely, Alice Deitz (another pomeranian owner)

Well, I can understand how you feel about the Poms helping to fill a lonely, aching place in your heart and in your life. I too lost a child; my little girl had leukemia. Even though it has been 23 years ago, the wound is still there, and the loneliness just as if it were yesterday -- The wondering what she would have been like had she lived longer than her short 4 years. When I start feeling blue, I just grab myself a big hug from one of these little furballs that own me! Sure helps fill the lonelies. .
